FAQ
Q1 My old turbocharger has a different part number (e.g., 195-5992 or 195-5999). Is this unit truly compatible?
👉 Yes, 100%. Following official factory standards, all 9 part numbers listed in our cross-reference table share the exact same 0R-9865 Basic Platform architecture. The only physical difference is the rotation angle of the compressor housing. Because our housing is fully adjustable (Clocking Adjustable), this single universal unit replaces them all perfectly.
Q2 Unsure if this fits your specific machine? How can I double-check before buying?
👉 We highly recommend verifying fitment before purchasing. Simply start a live chat with us or email our team with your Engine Serial Number (ESN). Our technical support team will instantly cross-reference it with the official manufacturer database to confirm exact compatibility for your vehicle.
Q3 Do I need to send my old turbocharger back to you? Is there a core charge deposit?
👉 No. This is a 100% brand-new aftermarket assembly, not a remanufactured unit. There is zero core charge and no deposit required. You do not need to spend time or money shipping your old unit back to us—keep it or scrap it.
Q4 If the housing angle (clocking) doesn’t match my original turbo out of the box, what should I do?
👉 Our turbo arrives pre-set to the standard 195-5995 orientation. If your specific engine layout requires a different angle, your mechanic can easily loosen the compressor housing bolts, rotate the housing to align perfectly with your old unit’s orientation, and retighten the bolts to factory torque specifications. No custom modifications are needed.
Q5 What is the warranty coverage for this turbo?
👉 We provide an industry-leading 2-Year Unlimited Mileage Warranty on all PHESSIO heavy-duty turbochargers. This warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and craftsmanship under normal operating conditions.
⚠️ Important Installation Notice:
To prevent premature turbo failure and validate your 2-Year Warranty, your technician must strictly follow these critical procedures during installation:
-
💧 Pre-Lubricate (Oil Priming): Crucial Step! Before connecting the oil lines, inject fresh, clean engine oil into the oil inlet port and spin the compressor wheel by hand. This prevents dry-start bearing damage during the first startup.
-
🧼 Clear Air System & Intercooler: If the previous turbo suffered a mechanical failure (broken blades/shaft), metal debris may be trapped inside the Charge Air Cooler (CAC) or intake piping. You MUST flush the intercooler. Leftover particles will be sucked into the new unit, causing catastrophic wheel damage.
-
🪠 Check Oil Drain & Crankcase Breather: Ensure the oil return line is clean and unkinked. A restricted drain line or high engine crankcase pressure will prevent oil from exiting, forcing it past the turbo seals and causing immediate oil leaking or smoking.
-
🆕 Always Replace Oil Feed Lines: Never reuse the old oil feed line. Old lines often contain trapped carbon deposits and sludge that will restrict oil flow, starving your new turbo of lubrication.
-
🔧 Certified Mechanic Required: Installation must be performed by a licensed heavy-duty technician. Please retain your professional service invoice and oil change receipt for warranty validation.
